Mercury Marine Announces the Brand New Mercury V12 Verado

Ok, we're drooling over this one. Mercury Marine announced the debut of the Mercury V12 Verado. It's a 7.6L Mercury outboard with a whopping 600hp of raw power—the biggest outboard Mercury has ever produced with enough power to get large boats on plane with ease.

Our sister company will soon be taking delivery of some of these bad boys, and we can't wait to get out on the water to experience this engine for ourselves.

As if the power story was not exciting enough, in true Mercury Marine fashion, they integrated many industry-first technology advancements, as well as several thoughtful touches.

2-Speed Transmission

The industry's first 2-speed transmission transfers power to the gearcase in a highly efficient manner and provides the acceleration needed to get to cruising speed quickly.

Independently Steerable Outboard Gearcase & Contra-Rotating Propellers

This first-ever independently steerable outboard gearcase allows large boats to handle like finely tuned sports cars. The steerable gearcase turns independently of the engine to revolutionize handling and free up transom space for multi-engine rigging. The result is smooth electro-hydraulic control and instant responsiveness.

The contra-rotating propellers provide improved handling at all speeds - from slow maneuvering around the dock to full speed performance. Additionally, advanced hydrodynamics results in outstanding handling and efficiency. This new design minimizes resistance and drag, enhancing stability at high speeds, and maximizes fuel efficiency.

Transient Spark Technology

Transient spark technology calibrates spark plug timing optimizing low-end power for instantly responsive performance.

Improved Cowl Design

Mercury Marine paid attention to every detail with the Mercury V12 Verado launch—even improvements to the cowl design. Believing that power should be felt, not heard, the V12 Verado cowl helps prevent vibrations from reaching the boat, while noise-reducing improvements dampen induction sounds and virtually eliminate injection noise.

Simpler Maintenance for the Mercury V12 Verado

For the V12 Verado, Mercury Marine has extended regular service intervals to 200 hours of operation, plus five years or 1000 hours for additional maintenance. Technology advancements allowing for these extended service intervals allow for more time on the water and less time worrying about maintenance.

Additionally, a cowl hood provides easy service access without even removing the boat from the water.

With its agile handling, the powerful V12 Verado outboard delivers a driving experience that defies expectations. Intuitive features such as Next Gen Digital Throttle & Shift technology, Joystick Piloting, VesselView monitoring, and Skyhook advanced controls ensure stress-free days on the water.

Increased Fuel Efficiency

Full performance on 87-octane fuel plus efficient features like a hydrodynamic gearcase and a closed-loop fuel system mean fuel goes farther on the V12 Verado outboard. Advanced Range Optimization calibration precisely adjusts fuel delivery for the best possible efficiency at cruise.

Four Color Options

The Mercury V12 Verado is available in four colors, including Phantom Black, Warm Fusion White, Cold Fusion White, and Pearl Fusion White. Additionally, the engines ship with a customizable paint-ready finish.

A 150-amp alternator gives you more power to quickly charge onboard batteries and provide intelligent support to the boat's electrical system, ensuring ample power for any amenities you have onboard.
