Side Mount Remote Control, Non-Trim | Mechanical Engine Controls | 8M0103451
Overview
If you’ve got a small Mercury FourStroke with electric start and you don’t need trim on the handle, this is the style of control that keeps life easy. The 8M0103451 is basically throttle/shift only—no trim switch to mess with, no extra stuff you’re not going to use anyway.
It comes with a 15-foot harness and an AMP connector, and on the engines it’s meant for it plugs right in without an adapter harness. That’s the big win here. Less rigging drama, fewer parts to chase, and it ends up looking cleaner behind the console.
Key Features
• Non-trim handle (throttle and shift only)
• 15-foot harness for most side console installs
• AMP connector for a direct plug-in connection
• No adapter harness needed on the listed engines
• Simple mechanical feel—direct and predictable
Compatibility / Ideal Applications
• MY2005 and newer Mercury FourStroke 8 / 9.9 HP (electric start, non-trim)
• MY2005 and newer Mercury FourStroke 15 / 20 HP (electric start, non-trim)
• Side console boats using mechanical throttle and shift
• MY2005 and newer 8 / 9.9 FourStroke engines require SAE T/S cables
• 8 / 9.9 FourStroke generation-change engines above S/N OR192772 use GEN I cables
• 15 / 20 FourStroke engines use GEN I cables
• All other compatible engines require GEN II control cables
Important User Notice
This control is for non-trim applications only. Cable requirements change depending on engine model year and serial number, so don’t guess—verify what your engine takes before ordering cables. It’s also smart to lay out the harness and cables first to make sure routing and handle travel feel right before you tighten everything down.
