Mercury Marine Launches the Industry's First V10 Outboards

Furthering the trend of increasingly powerful and capable outboard motors, Mercury Marine introduces the first ever V10 outboards with the launch of their all-new 5.7L 350 and 400hp Verado® outboard engines. The new engines are scheduled to start shipping in February of 2023.

Mercury shared that their new V10 engines are the quietest and smoothest in their class. They run 45 percent quieter than a leading competitor at cruise. The new Verado outboards are compatible with the latest Mercury SmartCraft® technologies. Additionally, to offer boaters the opportunity to eliminate an onboard generator system, the 5.7L 350 and 400hp Verado® outboard engines can be equipped with an optional dual-mode 48V/12V alternator that pairs with Navico Group’s Fathom® e-Power System, an integrated lithium-ion auxiliary power management system.

Chris Drees, Mercury Marine president, shared, “The all-new Mercury V10 Verado outboards are exactly what boaters have been asking for in a 350 and 400hp platform.

“They are powerful, smooth, and quiet. They have many of the same fuel efficiency-enhancing features that are synonymous with our high-horsepower lineup.”

Drees continued, “They also deliver the same kind of premium boating experience that has made Verado outboards legendary. The V10 Verado outboards solidify Mercury’s leadership position in the high-horsepower outboard market.”

The V10 Verado outboards leverage many of the same market-leading features and technologies boaters love about the company’s popular V12, V8, and V6 platforms. The new V10 outboards include premium refinements and versatility for various applications. Those applications range from large saltwater center consoles to single-engine freshwater fishing boats to pontoons and smaller center consoles.

The V10 engines are weighing only 695 pounds. With the same compact 26-inch mount spacing as their V8 outboards, the V10 engines are compatible with many current boat designs. The new engine’s light, compact design offers enhanced performance while offering the ability to integrate with boats currently on the market. The new 5.7L 350 and 400hp Verado® outboard engines are ideal for boaters looking to repower.
