The oil pick-up tube carries oil from an oil reservoir to an oil pump. If you need replacement oil pump parts, check out PartsVu and browse our selection.

The pickup is the tube through which your oil pump sucks up oil from the bottom of the oil pan. This helps the parts move smoothly without being damaged by metal contact, and keep the engine cool. One end of the pickup tube bolts or screws into the oil pump or to the engine block. If there are large particles in your oil, your oil pump pick-up tube may be clogged, and may need to be cleaned or replaced. The oil pump sucks oil up from the sump through a pipe - called a pickup pipe. It comprises an oil pick-up end disposed in the oil reservoir, a pump end disposed in the oil pump, and a transporting tube portion to deliver oil from the oil pick-up end to the pump end. The oil pickup is a tube that extends from the oil pump to the bottom of the oil pan. Here's the hot tips for how to install the oil pump pickup tube and screen on the right way. If you notice noise from your engine or increased engine operating temperatures or pressure, check your oil for contaminants. This helps keep the oil clean and the engine running smoothly. The pipe's nozzle sits below the surface of the oil, and it is covered by a guaze filter which prevents large particles from being sucked up into the pump. The oil pump pick-up tube, also known as the oil pump pick-up screen, filters large particles of dirt and contaminants from the oil before it is pumped through the oil filter for finer filtering.
